The Finmeccanica Store supports the new charity initiative “Mwana Simba”. The name comes from a proverb in Swahili – a Bantu language widespread in eastern, central and southern Africa – which says “Mwana simba ni samba” meaning “A lion cub turns into a lion”.

With a tradition of carrying out charity work where it is most needed,Finmeccanica again confirms its support for Africa, in the conviction that the future starts from there – from building a sustainable society for the future of the young people of this enormous continent with great potential.

And the Group has chosen as its motto the Swahili proverb “A lion cub turns into a lion”.The pride and strength of Africa are in the eyes of these young people. One day in the future, thanks to study and specialized training programmes, they will become the protagonists of their countries’ development, leading towards the future.

Buying things from the Finmeccanica Store is a way of supporting the three projects linked to the “Mwana Simba” initiative:

Nigeria project: organising a Science Festival in Owerri.

Congo project: setting up a vocational training school in collaboration with Salesian missionaries.

Cameroon project: setting up a church, school buildings and a medical camp in Mbanda, Cameroon.
